Higher education is provided by public and non public (non-state) accredited higher education institution (HEIs). Higher education is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, which is responsible for the accreditation and licensing of HEIs and for developing and maintaining Stat Educational Standards. HEIs are authorized to award the Master’s degree after 2 years of study or Specialist’s Diploma after 1 year following upon the Bakalavr’s degree (e.g. lawyer, engineer). There are two levels of doctoral degrees: Kandidat Nauk degree (the first level) and Doktar Nauk degree (the second highest level)
MOST OF THE COURSES ARE OFFERED WITH ENGLISH AS THE MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION :
Undergraduate Degrees: Bachelor Degree – basic level for most professions and entails 3 or more years of study and the bachelor Degree with Honors if the student achieves excellent results, he can do further year of study and apply for honors. Most of the medicine courses at the first stage last for six years.
Entry Requirements: Year 12 or equivalent from a recognized board. An alternative entry path is to successfully complete a Foundation Studies program or enter via a Diploma course offered by the recognized polytechnics or Institutes of Technology.
Postgraduate
Degrees : Graduate Diploma- 1 year course, building further
professional knowledge and skills.
Masters Degree: 1 to 2 years
Entry Requirements: Bachelors Degree with a first class or upper second class from a recognized university.
Tuition Fee and living expenses: Tuition fee expenses vary from course to course and university to university. The tuition fees usually vary from US$ 4,500 to US$ 7,000 (Rupees 2 lakhs to 3.5 lakhs per annum) The estimated living expenses per annum are around US$ 600 to US$ 1000. which includes accommodation, food, travel expenses, clothing and communication etc.
Part Time Work: International students who wish to work during the long summer holidays are permitted to do so if they are undertaking a full time course of more than 12 months duration. The students are able to recover of their living expenses by working part time.As you must be aware, Russia has always been in the forefront in the field of education and more specifically medicine, engineering, aviation, aerospace and other fields. Besides the mentioned specialization, Russia has been offering practically all specializations known to mankind.

Firstly, NO capitation fees or donations are to be paid to the universities in Russia. The cost of education in the universities in Russia is highly regulated and subsidized by the Ministry of Public Health of the Russian Federation. They are very reasonable in contrast to the other universities in Europe.
It may also be observed and noted that unlike in other universities in Europe, students need not appear for any entrance or pre-qualifying exams like GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, SAT, etc.
