Do you, or your partner (if applicable), have a close relative who is an Australian citizen or permanent resident who is willing to sponsor you?

To qualify for Sponsorship, you (or your partner, if applicable) must have a close relative who is willing to sponsor you. The sponsor must be over 18 years of age and either an Australian Citizen, an Australian Permanent Resident or an Eligible New Zealand Citizen.

You must be related to the sponsor as follows: as a parent, a non-dependent child, a brother or sister, as an aunt or uncle (including adoptive and step relationships).

A first cousin or grandparent may act as a sponsor if they live in a Designated Area.
